No that’s not a typo! I’ve spent the last few days sorting out the main corridor in the building (the one at leads to the toilets, party room, storage rooms and all the other future public spaces) and as I alluded to in my last mini-blog, seeing it half completed has brought home just how many doors we have in this place! This picture is looking down (half of) the corridor from the main room…and that white section of wall you can see on the right was another door that I’ve removed!
The walls, ceiling and new lighting are done, so the rest of my weekend is going to be spent painting skirting, doors and frames. I really do feel like I’m in Monsters Inc, so I’m sure it’ll be entertaining for the little ones!
I’ve also finalised the door colour coding, and we’re going to have:
White = exits (or routes to other places)
Yellow = toilets
Green = public rooms with prior booking
Red = staff only
If you’re interested, the space you can see here will have two yellow, two green and two red doors by the end of the weekend, I hope! Is that a collective “ooooh” I can hear? No? It’s amazing what can excite you after a few days spent alone in a large, empty building!
On other news, the play equipment supplier has just left me again, after another full week, this time to install all of the safety netting onto the frameworks. They’ll have another visit in mid-April to install all the fun bits inside and sign it off…watch this space 🙂
Until next time
PS. I apologise to the two interviewees we slotted in today, who had to see my legs in work shorts!
