…One day we’ll no doubt have face painting at The Square but on this occasion my blog title refers to facing it…every day! It seems like I’ve been painting for an age. It’s a time-consuming job at the best of times of course (at least it is if you want to do it right) but in a room as big as ours it feels never-ending.
This is an example of one area where I decided, against all common sense, to paint 6 different colours, in stripes. 30 hours later and it looks great, but I can almost feel my knees plotting to kill me in my sleep.
That is, of course, if I actually had any sleep these days. One thing’s for sure, if you combine fathering a new baby with opening a new business then sleep is going to be way down on your list of achievements! So inevitably, there have been a few mishaps along the way. The following picture shows the cleanest area which resulted from me deciding to try and move a 10L tin of paint from the top of my ladder whilst distracted by a favourite song on the radio and simultaneously dreaming of my bed (my trousers soaked up 5 times this amount)!
!
But, do you know what? I wouldn’t swap it for the world. It’s actually starting to look like a play centre and … drum roll … the equipment supplier starts building the framework on site on Monday, so it’s coming together day by day. I just need to get the new coffee machine plumbed in to sort out that sleep problem and then it’s plain sailing all the way to opening day 🙂
