After months of planning, negotiating, discussing, debating and many a sleepless night thinking, I finally managed to achieve something on site that put us a small step closer to completion.
The main room is split into two via four large wall openings, but there were another two hidden in the structure (one boarded over and one with a window installed) so today was all about opening those up (before and after are shown below).
The main play structure will be installed both sides of the wall, with both of the ‘new’ openings playing a role (the nearest opening will be a viewing point for the children between both areas, the next one will be a connecting point for the structure, through which the children can walk…or run)!
I also reviewed the lighting and decided, quite quickly, it all needs replacing. One thing’s for certain, it won’t be a dim room.
If anyone would like an old grubby carpet, stuck solid to the floor and with the added benefit of fresh rubble and ground-in dust, it’s yours for free. The only condition is you have to remove it :o)
